The Coin Reference

Facts, dates and numbers, kept current

About

Why The Coin Reference exists and who writes it.

What this site is

The Coin Reference covers one thing: coin profiles, protocol timelines, glossary, comparison tables. Everything published here stays inside that scope. If a topic is interesting but outside it, it does not get published, because there are better sites for it.

Facts, dates and numbers, kept current

Who writes it

Every article on this site is written by Reference Desk. The reference desk. Entries are updated as the underlying facts change.

Readers are assumed to be readers looking up a specific fact or comparison.

How articles are written

Claims that can be checked are checked. Where a number matters, the article says where it came from and when it was measured. Where something is uncertain, the article says so instead of rounding the uncertainty away. Costs, risks and inconvenient details are included, because leaving them out is how crypto writing usually goes wrong.

What this site does not do

No price predictions. No investment advice. No paid placements dressed up as reviews. Nothing here should be read as a recommendation to buy or sell anything. It is written to explain how things work so you can make your own decision.
